Tuesday update...on Wednesday


Pictured above is Cuphea llavea-FLAMENCO SAMBA, which are available now in 1gal.
As far as what's coming on availability wise...
  • 4" Graffiti series Pentas; most ready tomorrow and the rest early next week.
  • another small crop of Portulaca will be available next week.
  • the next crop of Cora series Vinca should hit the list in 7-10 days.
  • the second crop of 4" Tomatoes may be ready tomorrow, for sure Monday.

Tuesday update: What's coming on...


The first crop of Fall Tomatoes really "jumped" and are ready for sale. They will be on the Thursday availability, but can certainly be pulled and shipped now.

Here's a few items that will be available in the next 7-10 days:

  • 4" Butterfly series Pentas
  • 4' Graffiti Series Pentas...7-14 days, white & pink will be later.
  • 4" Ornamental Peppers...including: Black Pearl, Explosive Blast, Medusa and Garda Tri-Color.
  • 4" Sweet Basil (ready now)
  • 4" Echinacea Double Decker & Rubinstern Red
  • 4" Lavender Goodwyn Creek
Our next crop of Cora series Vinca will be ready Thursday or Friday 7/30-31.

Fall Tomatoes


Fall Tomatoes are coming along very nicely...and the first of two crops should be available around the first of August. Varieties include:
  • Beefy Boy
  • Big Beef
  • Bush Celebrity
  • Carmelita (new this fall-limited quantities)
  • Carmello
  • Celebrity
  • Grape
  • Matina (new-limited quantities)
  • Matt's Wild Cherry
  • Purple Calabash
  • Sun Chaser
  • Sun Master
  • Sweet Million
  • Viva Italia
  • Yellow Pear

We will also be offering some other fall veggies. Tentatively planned are Broccoli, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Winter Squash, Lettuce and Spinach. More info on these soon.

Tuesday Update:



Well...it has definitely been the Summer for Vinca, Rudbeckia and Pentas...and anything else that loves all this hot dry weather.

Above is Vinca 'Cora Apricot'. Vinca in general has been selling very well, and the Cora Vinca have been widely accepted as the "Vinca of Choice".

Here's a quick look at what's "coming on" in the next 7-10 days:
  • our next crop of 4" Vinca should be ready the week of 7/20/2009. The Cora's will be ready first.
  • 4" Rudbecka Indian Summer will be ready the later part of week 7/20 as well.
  • 4" Pentas new crop ready week of 7/27/2009.

10 Day Weather Forecast

The weather.com 10 day forecast is looking great...if you like hot, dry weather. The chance for some much needed rain for the greater Houston area looks nonexistent right now.

That being said, be sure all new plantings...especially 4" color...is getting plenty of irrigation.

Tuesday update: What's coming on...

It's that time again...here's a short list of material that will be available in the the next 7-10 days:
  • 4" Butterfly Series Pentas; some may be on the availability this Thursday 6/18.
  • 4" Graffiti Series Pentas; some should hit the list on Monday 6/22, Graffiti White and Graffiti Pink finish a bit slower...hopefully on the list Thursday 6/25.
  • 4" Portulaca; limited quantities will be on this Thursday 6/18.
  • 4" Zinnia linearis; will be on the availability Thursday 6/18.
  • 4" Salvia 'Vista Red' will be on the availability Thursday 6/18.
  • New crop 4" Zinnia Magellan Series; most will be ready this Thursday as well.
  • 4" Evolvulus 'Blue Daze' and 4" Cuphea Mexican Heather; watch for these on the Thursday 6/25 availability list.

Every Tuesday, when possible, we will list of some of the items in production that will be available soon. Here's the update for this week 5/26/2009:
  • 4" Pentas; Graffiti & Butterfly series, ready in 7-10 days.
  • 4" Zinnia Magellan series ready in 7 days.
  • 4" Angelonia Serena series, ready Thursday-Friday 5/28-29.
  • 4" Evolvulus 'Blue Daze', ready Monday June 1st.
  • 6" SunPatiens ready 7-10 days.
  • 4" Caladiums; 80% of new crop are Strap Leaf varieties...ready 10-14 days.
  • 4" Ficus pumila ready 10-14 days.
